Fabric weight: Measured in GSM (grams per square meter). Lightweight (120–150 GSM) – breathable, summer feel. Midweight (160–200 GSM) – standard, not see-through, everyday wear. *Heavyweight (210+ GSM)* – durable, structured, vintage look. Knit type: Jersey knit – smooth front, slight loop back, soft and stretchy. Slub cotton – uneven texture from intentional thick/thin yarns. Rib knit (collar only) – tight, elastic, holds shape. Neck ribbing: Usually 1x1 or 2x2 rib with spandex for recovery – prevents "bacon neck" (wavy, stretched collar). Shoulder tape: A small strip of fabric on inner shoulder seams – stops stretching and keeps shape. Hemming: Dual-needle stitching on sleeves and bottom for flat, durable finish. Pilling resistance: Longer-staple cottons (like Pima or Supima) pill less than short-staple cotton. Shrinkage: Expect 3–5% after first wash; pre-shrunk cotton reduces this.
